A series of interesting talks
We are excited to announce that there will be a series of interesting talks by our teacher, an MALS alumna, and two friends of MALS! And you are of course welcome to join them!
Prof. Lian Hee WEE will be giving three talks in Czech, two on tones and one on a Hong Kong comics called Old Master Q.
Our MALS alumna, Kaixin ZHAO, currently a PhD student sponsored by MALS, will be giving her talk on language-music tonological correspondence in singing.
Friends of MALS are also giving very meaningful talks: Yoyo TSANG, an MPhil student at HKBU ENG, will be giving a talk about cross-linguistic lexical access to language-specific meanings; Daai-Syut YEUNG, a PhD candidate at the French National Center for Scientific Research, will be sharing her research on an eastern Tibetic language called Ridang.
Unless you are travelling to Czech during mid-May, please feel free to join these intriguing talks on Zoom. Do take note that the time shown on the posters are in Czech time. Here we have also converted them to Hong Kong time for you – hope you won’t miss any of them!
